The Maggie Society Canine Rescue Rehabilitation & Education

Our Mission

The Maggie Society Rescue, Rehabilitation, & Education is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned dogs from high-kill North Carolina shelters.

The Maggie Society seeks to partner with sister rescues in areas where many people are anxious to adopt shelter dogs rather than purchase a dog from a breeder, pet store, or worse a puppy mill.

One of our biggest partners is WAGS Rescue and Referral in Southampton, PA. Wags is a 501c3 non profit rescue and has a long history of helping to save shelter dogs. The Maggie Society routinely sends dogs to Wags and other rescues for adoption.

Our fabulous fosters provide many pups with loving temporary homes. We have a group of dedicated volunteers working to find well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. While other volunteers help with transports that send our dogs on to their forever homes.

With our committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, as well as our sister rescues we are able to save the lives hundreds of dogs every year.

We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.
